Position Overview
California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) is seeking passionate and experienced professionals to join the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering as Part-Time Lecturers. This is an excellent opportunity to share your industry expertise with bright and diverse students in a leading ABET-accredited engineering program.
Job Responsibilities
As a Part-Time Lecturer, you will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Civil and Environmental Engineering, covering topics such as:
- Structural, geotechnical, transportation, and water resources engineering
- Construction management and sustainable infrastructure
- Environmental impact assessments and hydrology
- Additional specialized courses based on department needs
This is a temporary, semester-based appointment, with hiring decisions often made just before the start of each academic term.
Required Qualifications
- A Masterβs degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field
- Minimum two years of industry experience in civil engineering
- Strong documentation of expertise in the field
- Experience with online teaching strategies
- Prior university-level teaching experience
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population, including first-generation college students
Preferred Qualifications
- A Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or relevant industry certification
- Extensive teaching experience in inclusive and collaborative learning environments
- Strong industry connections and practical knowledge relevant to civil engineering education

Compensation & Benefits
π° Salary Range: $5,007 – $6,359/month (prorated per teaching load)
π° Typical starting compensation for a three-unit course: $6,008.40 – $7,110/semester
