Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is hiring a Cyber Security Engineer to join our MILSATCOM Systems Engineering team in El Segundo, CA. This position supports Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) for the US Space Force (USSF), ensuring secure, survivable, and protected communications. You’ll work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with contractors, government civilians, and USSF members.

🛠 Your Responsibilities

🔹 Perform cybersecurity assessments, Risk Management Framework (RMF) A&A compliance, and cryptographic security engineering.
🔹 Define security requirements, architecture, and risk mitigation strategies for space and ground systems.
🔹 Support cybersecurity integration, verification, and validation processes.
🔹 Develop Program Protection Plans, identify Critical Program Information (CPI), and contribute to cybersecurity strategy.
🔹 Work with USSF, system stakeholders, and external contractors to ensure secure system designs.

📌 Required Qualifications

✅ 2+ years in Systems Engineering and Cyber Security roles.
✅ Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) & NIST 800-53 compliance.
✅ Knowledge of modern computing architectures (CI/CD, cloud, microservices).
✅ Strong technical writing & presentation skills.
✅ US Citizenship and ability to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.

🌟 Preferred Qualifications

✔ DoD program experience and cybersecurity certification (CISSP).
✔ Understanding of network engineering, security testing, and MILSATCOM systems.
✔ TS/SCI clearance preferred.
