Job Overview
Ergon Inc.’s Business Optimization Department is looking for a Data Governance Analyst to join our team in Flowood, MS. The Data Governance Analyst (DGA) will play a crucial role in data governance by modeling business processes, documenting data flows, and ensuring data quality across the organization. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, and passionate about data management.

Key Responsibilities
📊 Data Modeling & Documentation
- Model business processes and document data flows to ensure accurate data management practices.
- Understand and apply the fundamentals of how data is created, stored, and maintained across the company.
🔍 Data Analysis & Cleanup
- Conduct detailed data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
- Assist with data cleansing activities to ensure the integrity of critical business data.
📚 Collaboration & Governance
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to enforce data governance policies and procedures.
- Collaborate to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across all departments.
📝 Policy Development
- Develop and implement data governance policies to maintain data quality and compliance with internal standards.
- Monitor and report on data quality metrics to identify areas for improvement.
📈 Metrics & Reporting
- Participate in data governance initiatives and assist in tracking and reporting on the progress of key governance projects.
- Use tools like MS Excel and other analytics software to manipulate data and generate insights.
Education & Experience Requirements
🎓 Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Data Governance Analyst or in a similar data management role.
- Strong understanding of data management principles, data modeling, and data analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with teams.
✨ Preferred Skills:
- Experience with data governance tools and software.
- Knowledge of data privacy and protection regulations.
- Certification in data governance or data management (e.g., CDMP, DGSP) is a plus.
- Familiarity with content management systems, such as OpenText, for managing unstructured data.
