About the Role

As a Data Scientist at Mixpanel, you’ll play a key role in shaping our analytics strategy. The Analytics team drives product research, analytical frameworks, forecasting, and data storytelling, ensuring Mixpanel remains data-driven at its core. Your work will directly impact product decisions, marketing strategies, and company revenue goals.

Responsibilities ✅

• Answer Mixpanel’s biggest business and product questions to shape strategy.
• Work with leadership to identify high-priority strategic research initiatives.
• Conduct quantitative research to optimize product, marketing, and sales strategies.
• Uncover relationships between user behavior and customer outcomes.
• Define key proxy metrics to drive company-wide success.
• Provide forecasting and metric attribution insights.
• Design intuitive data interfaces for operational teams.
• Communicate findings across the organization to drive informed decisions.

What We’re Looking For 🎯

• Proven experience in data-driven decision-making and quantitative research.
• Advanced degree (Master’s or higher) in a quantitative field.
• Expertise in SQL, Python (preferred), R, and working with structured/unstructured data.
• Familiarity with cloud-based data warehouses, dbt, and data science notebooks.
• Experience with statistical and machine learning models.
• Strong collaboration skills across teams and leadership levels.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation 💰

💵 Salary Range: $184,500 – $225,500 (Total Target Cash Compensation)
