Are you a data-driven problem solver with a passion for healthcare analytics? Our Data Scientist Internship β Health Informatics is a paid, part-time, remote internship where you’ll collaborate with a diverse team of analysts, medical professionals, business leaders, and IT specialists to unlock insights from healthcare data.
As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience working with large-scale clinical datasets, using cutting-edge machine learning techniques, and developing data-driven solutions for public health and medical applications. This flexible, 20-hour-per-week role is a unique opportunity to contribute to real-world projects in healthcare informatics while developing industry-leading technical skills.
π Responsibilities
βοΈ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze complex healthcare datasets
βοΈ Utilize data science techniques including machine learning, deep learning, regression modeling, and pattern recognition
βοΈ Develop predictive models to detect trends and patterns in diagnostic test results
βοΈ Design data engineering algorithms to process large clinical datasets efficiently
βοΈ Contribute to healthcare product development, focusing on visualizations and statistics-based alerting systems
βοΈ Utilize Python and SQL to process, clean, and analyze large datasets
βοΈ Work on end-to-end projects, from data ingestion and transformation to advanced analytics and visualization
βοΈ Apply data mining and clustering techniques to identify meaningful patterns in lab test results
βοΈ Leverage cloud-based tools (AWS-Sagemaker, AWS-Quicksight) for scalable analytics solutions
βοΈ Present findings and insights using Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik
βοΈ Stay updated with the latest trends in data science, health informatics, and AI-driven healthcare solutions
βοΈ Other duties as assigned
π Qualifications
π Education: Currently pursuing a Masterβs degree in Data Science, Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Public Health, Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, or Mathematics
π Programming: Proficiency in Python and SQL (strongly preferred)
π€ AI & Analytics: Experience in data mining, pattern recognition, machine learning, and predictive analytics
π Data Visualization: Proficiency in Tableau, AWS-Quicksight, Qlik, Power BI, or SAS-VIYA
βοΈ Cloud Tools: Familiarity with AWS-Sagemaker is a plus
πΌ Experience: Prior data science or data engineering experience is preferred
π’ Communication: Ability to explain complex data insights to both technical and non-technical audiences
π₯ Healthcare Exposure: Experience working with clinical, healthcare, or lab data is an advantage
π Location: Must be based in the United States and open to limited travel
