Key Responsibilities – What You’ll Do
🔹 Transportation Project Review & Evaluation
✔ Analyze and review Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) and private development transportation plans.
✔ Ensure compliance with local, state, and national transportation regulations.
✔ Evaluate transportation impact studies, engineering reports, and technical documents.
🔹 Policy & Regulatory Compliance
✔ Provide technical guidance on public and private sector development projects.
✔ Assist in the interpretation and enforcement of transportation planning standards.
✔ Conduct research to develop and update local transportation policies.
🔹 Technical Engineering & Infrastructure Support
✔ Lead or collaborate on the Neighborhood Traffic Management Program.
✔ Utilize engineering software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, and traffic simulation tools.
✔ Work with GIS and CAD systems to analyze and develop transportation infrastructure solutions.
🔹 Collaboration & Public Engagement
✔ Communicate technical findings to stakeholders, engineers, and public officials.
✔ Support public outreach initiatives related to transportation and infrastructure projects.
✔ Assist in coordination with utility companies, contractors, and public agencies.
Qualifications – What You Need
✅ Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, transportation planning, or a related field.
✅ Experience: At least two years of pre-registration engineering experience.
✅ Core Knowledge: Strong understanding of transportation engineering principles, traffic analysis, geometric design, and urban planning.
✅ Technical Skills: Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, or traffic simulation software.
✅ Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with transportation codes, policies, and development standards.
✅ Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to assess and solve complex transportation challenges.
✅ Communication: Strong verbal and written skills to convey technical information to stakeholders.

Additional Requirements & Selection Process
📌 Licenses & Certifications:
✔ A valid driver’s license is required at the time of application.
✔ Must obtain an Arizona driver’s license upon appointment.
✔ The selected candidate will undergo a 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review.
