Job Overview

TRC is seeking an entry-level Environmental Scientist to join our Air Measurements Practice in Lombard, IL. This role involves assisting with air emissions testing projects at various industrial sites, helping clients maintain compliance while optimizing productivity. If you enjoy travel, working outdoors, and collaborating on a variety of projects, this is the opportunity for you!

Responsibilities

✔ Conduct air emissions testing at industrial facilities
✔ Record and analyze environmental data
✔ Operate and maintain testing equipment
✔ Assist in report writing and data processing
✔ Travel frequently (up to 75% fieldwork) across the Midwest and beyond
✔ Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
✔ Gain expertise in EPA sampling methods
✔ Work both independently and as part of a collaborative team

Qualifications

🎓 Education: Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering (Environmental preferred)
💪 Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. and work at elevated locations
🌦 Comfortable working outdoors in all seasons
📝 Strong written and verbal communication skills
🚗 Valid driver’s license and good driving record
✔ Ability to pass background check & drug screening

Salary & Benefits

💰 Salary Range: $21.60 – $26.40 per hour (based on experience, skills, and location)
