As part of our Personal Care Management (PCM) team, we are seeking an Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) Issues Focused Skills Trainer to support Personal Care Assistant (PCA) consumers enrolled in EVV. This position offers a unique opportunity to work directly with consumers, surrogates, and staff to provide training, troubleshooting, and ongoing support for EVV compliance.


📝 About the Role

The EVV Issues Focused Skills Trainer plays a critical role in ensuring compliance and functionality of the Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) system used in the Personal Care Assistant (PCA) program. This position requires strong knowledge of Personal Care Management (PCM) programs and the ability to provide both in-person and telephone support to PCA consumers and surrogates.

You will be responsible for training, troubleshooting, and providing hands-on support for EVV-related issues, ensuring that consumers are successfully utilizing the system and complying with program guidelines.

🔧 Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide training and continuous support for consumers and surrogates using Electronic Visit Verification (EVV).
  • Monitor EVV compliance issues and report concerns to management.
  • Deliver issue-focused EVV skills training within 3 business days of receiving a request.
  • Assist consumers and surrogates in creating and managing emails for EVV system access.
  • Educate consumers about EVV devices, vouchers, and exemption processes.
  • Address issues related to:
    • Overutilization – Timesheets submitted for more hours than approved.
    • Underutilization – Timesheets submitted for fewer hours than approved.
    • No utilization – Missing timesheets for extended periods (e.g., 6 months).
    • Billing while inpatient – Ensuring compliance with PCA program rules.
    • Late timesheets – Adhering to Department of Labor payment regulations.
    • Overtime requests – Submitting requests to Optum PAU within 1 day.
  • Support skills trainers and assist in enrollment and PCA hiring processes.
  • Work closely with PCM management to review service quality and produce reports.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in all consumer-related matters.
  • Ensure compliance with MassHealth regulations and PCA program policies.
  • Report suspected incidents of abuse or neglect to the Disabled Person Protection Commission (DPPC).
  • Maintain accurate progress notes, schedules, mileage reports, and expense forms.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

🎓 Qualifications & Skills

✅ Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3+ years of experience working with individuals with disabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of PCA programs and Personal Care Management (PCM) services.
  • Experience in skills training or education related to healthcare or social services.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, and database navigation).
  • Excellent communication, writing, and organizational skills.
  • Bilingual candidates preferred (Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, or Russian).
