The Ohio Department of Commerce is dedicated to providing leadership and administrative support for all divisions within the organization. Our Division of Administration oversees key functions, including the Office of the Director, Communications, Fiscal, Human Resources, IT, Legal, and Legislative Affairs.
We are currently seeking a Financial Associate to join our Accounts Receivable unit within the Fiscal section. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in finance or accounting who are looking to advance their careers in a structured and supportive work environment.
About the Role β Financial Associate (Accounts Receivable)
As a Financial Associate, you will play a vital role in the departmentβs financial operations. This position involves handling accounts receivable tasks, ensuring accurate payment processing, and maintaining strong communication with both internal and external customers.
Key Responsibilities:
βοΈ Payment Processing: Open and scan incoming checks, ensuring proper documentation.
βοΈ Database Management: Post customer payments accurately to the financial database.
βοΈ Bank Deposits: Prepare and process bank deposits in a timely manner.
βοΈ Customer Assistance: Provide support to internal departments and troubleshoot payment inquiries.
βοΈ Communication & Support: Answer customer phone calls regarding financial transactions.

Who Weβre Looking For β Qualifications
To be considered for this position, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:
π Experience: 18 months of experience in accounting or finance, including proficiency in spreadsheet software.
π Education: Completion of a high school technical program in accounting with at least 6 months of related experience.
π Degree Holders: Associate degree or core program in business administration, accounting, finance, or a related field.
π Equivalent Qualifications: A combination of relevant training, coursework, and work experience in finance and accounting.
