The Department of Physics & Astronomy is seeking a Financial Services Analyst to provide financial and analytical support to faculty, researchers, staff, and students. Under the guidance of the Financial Administrative Officer, you will play a crucial role in managing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and maintaining fiscal integrity of department funds.

This position involves ledger reconciliations, payroll support, pro-card transfers, financial reporting, and other general accounting duties. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and proactive, with the ability to analyze financial data and assist in maintaining accounts in an auditable and reportable condition.

As a University of California (UC) employee, you will be required to comply with University policies, collective bargaining agreements, and applicable government directives.

πŸ”Ή Financial & Accounting Support: Assist in managing departmental budgets, fund reconciliations, and expense tracking to ensure accurate financial reporting.

βœ… Required Qualifications & Skills

βœ” Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
βœ” Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and reconcile financial data.
βœ” Knowledge of accounting principles, financial management, and budget analysis.
βœ” Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
βœ” Ability to handle confidential financial information with integrity and discretion.
βœ” Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
βœ” Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with diverse teams.
βœ” Experience in higher education, research administration, or fund accounting is a plus.
