Position Overview

Banyan Elementary, part of Broward County Public Schools, is seeking a dedicated and passionate Grade 1 Teacher to create a dynamic and engaging learning environment. This role involves infusing critical thinking, interactive learning, and technology to inspire young learners while aligning instruction with district and state standards.

Key Responsibilities

✅ Assessment & Student Growth: Utilize both traditional and alternative assessment strategies aligned with curriculum standards to evaluate student progress.
✅ Engaging Instruction: Develop and implement creative lesson plans that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and active student engagement.
✅ Diversity & Inclusion: Use differentiated teaching strategies that accommodate diverse learning styles, special needs, and cultural backgrounds.
✅ Classroom Management: Establish a positive, well-disciplined, and engaging learning environment that fosters social interaction, cooperative learning, and self-motivation.
✅ Technology Integration: Incorporate modern educational technology to enhance student learning and engagement.
✅ Professional Growth: Participate in continuous professional development and contribute to school improvement initiatives.
✅ Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with parents, school staff, and the community to support student learning and development.
✅ Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records, including student progress, attendance, and compliance reports as required by state and district regulations.
✅ Ethics & Compliance: Uphold the Code of Ethics for Florida Educators and comply with federal, state, and district regulations.

Qualifications & Requirements

🎓 Minimum Qualifications:

• Valid State of Florida Teaching Certification (Elementary Education or related field).
• Strong computer and technology skills relevant to the position.

🌟 Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual skills are preferred but not required.
• Prior experience in elementary education is a plus.
