๐ Job Overview
West Coast University is looking for a dedicated Instructional Support Technologist to join our growing team! In this role, you will be a key liaison between students, faculty, and staff, ensuring seamless technical support for our Learning Management System (LMS) and other education technology platforms. As a valued team member, you will be responsible for troubleshooting technical issues, managing support tickets, assisting with curriculum updates, and providing training to academic stakeholders. You will work remotely within Pacific Time Zone business hours, ensuring a high level of support for our students and faculty.

๐ Key Responsibilities
๐ Technical Support & Troubleshooting
- Serve as the main point of contact for students, faculty, and staff encountering technical issues with the LMS.
- Work closely with IT and curriculum teams to identify, diagnose, and resolve system errors.
- Provide Level 2 support for escalated faculty and student technical issues.
- Assist with password recovery, publisher system access, video hosting platforms, and other educational technologies.
๐ Ticket & Process Management
- Monitor, manage, and resolve support tickets within enterprise-level ticketing systems.
- Maintain a shared support phone line and email inbox, ensuring inquiries are handled promptly.
- Identify gaps in knowledge bases and support procedures to improve efficiency.
- Document and update internal troubleshooting processes for better team collaboration.
๐ LMS & Curriculum Support
- Assist Subject Matter Experts, Instructional Designers, and Multimedia Developers with LMS course implementation and updates.
- Ensure that course content, quizzes, syllabi, and e-texts meet university standards before each term begins.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews to maintain consistency and effectiveness across courses.
๐ Training & Development
- Coordinate and deliver virtual and in-person training for faculty and students on LMS features and best practices.
- Support cross-departmental professional development initiatives related to instructional technology.
- Promote best practices for online, hybrid, and technology-enhanced instruction.
๐น Additional Responsibilities
- Stay updated on emerging education technologies to enhance student learning experiences.
- Collaborate with various departments to support university-wide technology initiatives.
- Ensure that university and industry standards are followed across all platforms.
โ Required Skills & Qualifications
๐น Essential Skills
- Experience troubleshooting and supporting LMS platforms like Canvas, Blackboard, or D2L.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, ensuring patience and clarity when assisting users.
- Proficiency in enterprise-level ticketing systems and IT support tools.
๐ Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher in Education Technology, Instructional Design, Information Technology, or Higher Education Leadership (or a closely related field).
- 1+ years of experience working in education technology or instructional support.
- 1+ years of experience in higher education, supporting faculty in online, hybrid, or web-enabled courses.
