Job Overview

We are hiring a Junior Facultative Reinsurance Accountant to join our Facultative Collection team in our New York home office. This role is perfect for individuals looking to grow in the insurance and reinsurance accounting field while working in a dynamic financial environment.

Key Responsibilities

✅ Reinsurance Claims & Financial Analysis:

Review monthly IT reports covering 121,000 claims and $2.5 billion incurred losses to assess facultative reinsurance recoverables.
Evaluate facultative certificates and claim financials for accurate recoverable identification.

✅ Financial Accounting & Cash Applications:

Work with Claims, Operations, and Profit Centers to book, bill, and recover ceded facultative reinsurance.
Maintain accurate cash applications for facultative contracts to the correct general ledger accounts and accounting periods.

✅ Collaboration & Reporting:

Analyze executive claim summaries and collaborate with the Claims Department to ensure reinsurer notifications are issued.
Provide weekly collection updates to management.

Requirements

🔹 Education & Experience:
✔ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
✔ 0-2 years of experience in insurance or reinsurance accounting.

🔹 Technical & Soft Skills:
✔ Strong analytical and organizational skills.
✔ Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
✔ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access, and URS.
✔ Effective oral and written communication skills.
