We are actively seeking a Legal Technology Advisor to conceptualize, design, and implement cutting-edge legal tech solutions that support our attorneys and clients. This role can be hybrid (based in our New York or Washington, DC offices) or 100% remote in an approved U.S. state as part of our “Gideon” virtual office.
Job Overview
The Legal Technology Advisor will work closely with attorneys, IT professionals, and legal innovation teams to identify opportunities for technology-driven improvements in legal services. The ideal candidate is a problem solver, technology enthusiast, and strategic thinker with experience in legal project management, product development, and process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
β Technology Strategy & Innovation: Identify, evaluate, and implement legal technology solutions that enhance law practice efficiency and client service.
β Process Optimization: Improve workflows and project management approaches to streamline legal operations.
β Solution Design & Implementation: Work closely with attorneys and IT professionals to develop and roll out innovative legal solutions.
β Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the liaison between attorneys, clients, and tech teams to ensure seamless technology adoption.
β Legal Technology Research: Stay updated on the latest legal tech trends, AI tools, automation, and industry best practices.
β Product Development & Prototyping: Conceptualize and prototype new legal service tools and solutions.
β Training & Adoption: Educate legal teams on technology best practices, software adoption, and digital transformation.
β Software Evaluation: Assess existing and emerging legal tech platforms to determine their potential benefits and integration within the firm.
Preferred Legal Tech Tools & Software
π» Experience with: HighQ, Litera Contract Companion, Litera Create, Jigsaw, Exhibit Manager, OnCue, Kira, and other similar platforms.
π Database Knowledge: Experience with relational database management systems is highly preferred.
Required Skills & Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technology, legal, business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
β
Experience: Minimum three (3) years of related experience, preferably within a law firm, corporate legal department, or legal services provider.

Legal Workflow Knowledge: Understanding of law firm operations, attorney workflows, and legal industry needs.

Project Management: Strong experience in solution design, consulting, and client-facing roles.
β
Communication Skills: Ability to translate complex technical concepts into practical legal applications for attorneys and clients.

Presentation & Training: Skilled in conducting training sessions, leading innovation workshops, and facilitating technology adoption.

Problem-Solving Ability: Track record of analyzing issues, developing solutions, and implementing successful legal tech strategies.

Strategic Thinking: Ability to align legal technology initiatives with business goals and firm strategy.
