We are hiring for a Legal Wealth Advisor II or III in McLean, VA (22102) to develop and manage a profitable portfolio of legal clients, including small to mid-sized law firms and high-net-worth attorneys. This role involves financial planning, lending, deposit management, and investment solutions while maintaining strong client relationships and driving new business.

Key Responsibilities

βœ” Client Portfolio Management: Manage a profitable portfolio of legal professionals and law firms, including deposits, loans, and assets under management.
βœ” Business Development: Develop a strategic business plan to expand client relationships through networking, referrals, and targeted marketing efforts.
βœ” Client Acquisition: Proactively identify and acquire new legal clients, leveraging personal and professional networks, centers of influence, and referrals.
βœ” Financial Consultation & Advice: Provide specialized financial advice tailored to the unique needs of law firms and high-net-worth attorneys.
βœ” Private Banking & Wealth Services: Offer customized wealth management strategies, including investment management, estate planning, and lending solutions.
βœ” Legal Industry Expertise: Act as the primary financial consultant for assigned law firms, offering insight into market trends and legal financial dynamics.
βœ” Cross-Selling & Revenue Growth: Identify opportunities for cross-selling Truist’s financial products, including deposits, loans, and investment solutions.
βœ” Market Leadership: Represent Truist Financial at legal industry events, bar associations, and professional networking groups.
βœ” Risk & Compliance Management: Ensure all financial strategies and client engagements align with regulatory, operational, and reputational risk management policies.
βœ” Client Relationship Management: Use CRM tools to document and track client interactions, ensuring a proactive and personalized approach.
βœ” Collaboration & Team Support: Partner with internal Truist teams, including wealth advisors, investment managers, and private bankers, to provide holistic financial solutions.

Qualifications – Legal Wealth Advisor II

βœ… Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Finance, Business, Law, or related field preferred).
  • 5-7 years of experience in banking, wealth management, or private banking.

βœ… Licensing & Certification Requirements:

  • FINRA Series 7 & Series 66 licenses (must be obtained within 90 days of hire).
  • Life, Health, and Variable Insurance licenses (must be obtained within 90 days of hire).

βœ… Skills & Expertise:

  • Strong knowledge of banking products, corporate banking, and private banking.
  • Proven track record of acquiring and managing high-net-worth legal clients.
  • Deep understanding of wealth management, estate planning, and financial planning for attorneys.
  • Excellent consultative, sales, and client relationship management skills.
  • Experience with CRM tools and financial reporting software.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Additional Qualifications – Legal Wealth Advisor III

βœ… Experience Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in private banking, wealth management, or legal financial services.
  • Proven success managing high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients.

βœ… Leadership & Advanced Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the Market Leader for a specific geographic region (if assigned).
  • Lead and mentor junior wealth advisors and associates.
  • Spearhead wealth strategy discussions, market analysis, and legal financial best practices.

βœ… Preferred Certifications:

  • CFP, CTFA, CDFA, or equivalent professional certification.
  • MBA or advanced degree in a related field.
