Interstate Packaging is hiring a Machine Operator to join our production team in Albert Lea, MN. This hands-on role involves equipment setup, machine operation, basic maintenance, and crew leadership. 🔍 Key Responsibilities

Lead and support the crew in safe, efficient operation of production machinery
Follow safety policies and encourage a culture of workplace safety
Accurately report material usage, time, and production data
Prepare machines for operation by mounting cylinders, loading materials, and checking specs
Operate machinery and adjust settings to maintain product quality
Conduct routine quality checks and take action on irregularities
Use a computer to input job and measurement information
Troubleshoot minor machine issues and escalate complex problems
Assist with machine changeovers, startups, and cleaning
Maintain raw material inventory for each job
Use a ruler to verify product dimensions
Suggest and support process improvements
Keep work areas clean and organized
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
Perform additional duties and support special projects as needed

👨‍💼 Supervisory Duties

This position includes oversight of a small production crew, including planning, assigning work, and monitoring task completion to meet operational goals.

📋 Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required
Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing or production
Previous leadership or team coordination experience is a plus
Mechanical aptitude and the ability to troubleshoot machinery
Comfortable using basic computer systems for data entry
Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Ability to read technical drawings and use measuring tools

💪 Physical Requirements

Frequent standing, reaching, and repetitive hand movements
Lifting up to 25 lbs regularly and 50 lbs occasionally
Occasional stair climbing, crouching, kneeling, or crawling
Exposure to loud noise, dust, and varying indoor temperatures
