Key Responsibilities
As an Operator Intern, you will:
β
Support Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) compliance by following regulations, policies, and safe operating practices as outlined in Chevronβs Operational Excellence Management System.
β
Work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and Mentors to enhance technical knowledge and job competencies.
β
Assist with refinery operations and maintenance activities to gain practical experience in industrial processes.
β
Perform assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with company guidelines.
Required Qualifications
To be eligible for this internship, you must meet the following criteria:
π Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
π Process Technology Program: Currently enrolled in the final semester or recently completed an Associate of Science or Certificate program from a verified Process Technology Program.
π Valid Driverβs License required.
π GPA: Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
π Proof of Program Completion: Must be uploaded to your online application profile.
π» Technical Skills: Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and willingness to learn new software applications.
π Work Schedule Flexibility: Ability to work day and night shifts, weekends, and holidays based on assigned schedules.
π Pre-Employment Requirements: Must successfully pass a post-offer drug and alcohol screening, background check, physical exam, and functional capacity evaluation.
π Assessment: Must complete an online pre-employment assessment within 72 hours of submitting the application.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications will strengthen your application:
π« Preferred Schools: Graduates from Los Angeles Trade Technical College, Coastline Community College, or the Energy Pathways Process Technology Program.
π Strong Academic & Leadership Skills: Candidates with excellent communication, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills are highly encouraged to apply.
π§ Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with safety, environmental, and process reliability issues.
βοΈ Hands-on Experience: Experience with Inside and/or Outside Machinist & Operator competencies.
π€ Teamwork Ability: Ability to work effectively in a diverse team and collaborate with coworkers, contractors, and internal/external customers.
Compensation & Benefits
π° Hourly Rate: $27.00 per hour.
