About the Role

We’re looking for a reliable and customer-focused Customer Service Representative (CSR) to join our team at the Anderson, CA gas station and food mart. In this dynamic, hands-on role, you’ll ensure a clean, well-stocked, and friendly environment for customers while supporting daily store operations and contributing to a superior customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

👥 Customer Service

Greet every customer enthusiastically with eye contact and a smile
Execute the “Four Steps of Customer Service” for excellent shopper satisfaction
Promote in-store promotions and company credit card offerings
Handle age-restricted sales responsibly (tobacco, alcohol, lottery)

🛒 Visual Merchandising

Stock and tidy coolers, shelves, and displays for maximum visual appeal
Maintain accurate price tags and promotional signage
Remove expired/damaged products per store policy

🍕 Food & Beverage Handling

Ensure food and beverage products are fresh and prepared to safety standards
Sanitize equipment like coffee machines and roller grills regularly

💰 Cash Handling

Operate the POS system to process cash, debit, and credit transactions accurately
Perform basic math and follow company drop procedures for handling cash

🧼 Store Cleanliness

Maintain pump areas and outdoor cleaning stations
Sweep, mop, and keep restrooms and interior spaces clean

🧩 Additional Duties

Adhere to assigned shift responsibilities
Reset the car wash (if applicable)
Perform other duties as assigned by the Station Manager

Qualifications

✅ Some customer service or retail experience preferred
✅ High school diploma or GED preferred
✅ Familiarity with POS systems and basic computer skills
✅ Good verbal communication and a team-first attitude
✅ Able to multitask and remain calm under pressure
✅ Comfortable working independently and on your feet

Tools & Equipment You’ll Use

POS register, step ladder, computer, email systems
Cleaning chemicals, coffee & fountain machines, roller grills
Car wash equipment (if applicable)

Physical Requirements

Frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), crouching, and reaching
Hand-eye coordination required for register and stocking duties
Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather

Work Environment

You’ll be based in a gas station with a food mart—fast-paced, customer-facing, and team-oriented.
