ISO New England, the independent system operator for New England’s electricity grid, is seeking a Principal Energy Market Analyst to join our Market Development team. This role is essential in integrating new technologies, enhancing competitive electricity markets, and driving the region’s clean energy transition.

🔹 Key Responsibilities

✅ Analyze market designs to identify areas for improvement.
✅ Develop and propose market rule changes to optimize electricity pricing and efficiency.
✅ Conduct research & analysis on market performance and policy objectives.
✅ Work in multi-departmental teams to implement energy market improvements.
✅ Engage with stakeholders, explaining technical solutions to both expert and non-expert audiences.
✅ Provide regulatory support by contributing to market rule submissions and expert testimony.

📌 Qualifications

🎓 Minimum Requirements:
✔️ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Business, or related fields.
✔️ Strong knowledge of energy markets, power systems, or energy trading.
✔️ Experience in research, analysis, and project-based work within the energy sector.

🌟 Preferred Qualifications:
➕ Familiarity with market clearing, pricing algorithms, or settlement systems used by grid operators.
➕ Proficiency in data analysis tools (Python, R, SQL, Excel, Matlab, SAS).
➕ Ability to perform statistical modeling and simulation analysis.
