About the Role
Crusoe is expanding its Cloud Network Engineering Team and is seeking a Senior Network Automation Engineer to lead the development of advanced network automation solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing Crusoe’s AI cloud networking infrastructure across our global edge, backbone, and data center environments.
You will play a critical role in developing automation tools for provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting networks while improving Crusoe’s HPC-based (High-Performance Compute) cloud solutions. This position is ideal for a highly motivated, self-directed engineer who thrives in fast-paced, innovative environments.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Network Automation Engineer, you will:
✔️ Develop & Maintain Automation Tools: Create cutting-edge automation solutions for network provisioning, deployment, and configuration management.
✔️ Optimize AI Cloud Networking: Enhance network efficiency for HPC clusters with GPUs by designing customized automation workflows.
✔️ Ensure Operational Scalability: Lead process improvements to ensure scalable, automated workflows across data centers, backbone, and edge networks.
✔️ Troubleshoot Complex Network Issues: Conduct deep-dive analysis on network performance issues, hardware failures, and automation bugs.
✔️ Enhance Network Telemetry: Improve monitoring and logging systems for better visibility into network performance and security.
✔️ Standardize Implementation: Work closely with other Network Engineers to ensure consistent automation across Crusoe’s infrastructure.
✔️ Provide Mentorship: Guide and support junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
REQUIREMENTS
To thrive in this role, you should have extensive experience in network automation and a strong understanding of large-scale cloud networking.
Minimum Qualifications:
✅ 15+ years of network automation experience in large-scale environments.
✅ Proficiency in Python, Go, C++, or Java for automation development.
✅ Expertise in network device configurations for at least one vendor (Arista, Juniper, Cisco, Brocade, Ciena, Infinera, Nokia, etc.).
✅ Deep knowledge of network protocols, including BGP, MPLS, IS-IS, VXLAN, EVPN, and QoS.
✅ Strong background in TCP, IPv4/6, DHCP, and DNS.
✅ Experience with network provisioning automation tools (e.g., ZTP, Netconf, Ansible, Terraform).
✅ Ability to debug and optimize network software at a massive scale.
✅ Experience in DevOps and CI/CD automation for network infrastructure.
✅ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent professional experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
🔹 Experience with distributed systems and operating them at scale.
🔹 Familiarity with release engineering, network testing, and infrastructure security.
🔹 Knowledge of AI cloud computing and high-performance network architectures.
