📌 Job Overview

As a Social Media Specialist, you will play a vital role in developing and executing engaging social media strategies to enhance brand visibility and customer engagement. You will collaborate with internal teams, external agencies, and franchise networks to manage content creation, track social media sentiment, and optimize campaigns for impact.

This role is fully remote, but candidates located in San Diego, CA, or Greenville, SC are preferred.


🎯 Key Responsibilities

✔️ Social Media Monitoring & Sentiment Analysis

  • Track and assess brand sentiment across major social media channels, including Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, X (formerly Twitter), and TikTok.
  • Identify opportunities and challenges within customer conversations and provide strategic recommendations.

✔️ Content Creation & Management

  • Assist in creating, editing, and posting social media content across 5,300+ The UPS Store Facebook, Google My Business, and Apple Listings.
  • Write and edit compelling copy for social media posts, internal communications, and digital campaigns.
  • Work closely with graphic designers and video teams to develop high-quality content.

✔️ Campaign Execution & Brand Consistency

  • Partner with external social media agencies to ensure campaigns align with brand guidelines and strategic objectives.
  • Review and approve editorial content to ensure consistency, tone, and messaging.
  • Support companywide initiatives by integrating social media strategies into larger marketing campaigns.

✔️ Franchise Network Engagement

  • Engage daily with The UPS Store franchise network to assist with social media best practices and platform management.
  • Provide training and resources to franchisees on social media strategies to enhance local store engagement.

✔️ Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Communicate regularly with key project stakeholders to update them on social media campaign performance.
  • Work alongside customer service, PR, and marketing teams to align messaging and optimize audience engagement.

✔️ Performance Tracking & Reporting

  • Analyze social media performance metrics to track campaign success and identify areas for improvement.
  • Generate monthly reports on audience engagement, campaign effectiveness, and competitive insights.

🔎 Required Skills & Qualifications

📌 Must-Have Qualifications:
✔️ 1-3 years of experience in a corporate in-house social media role or agency setting.
✔️ Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a focus on digital content and brand messaging.
✔️ Experience managing multiple social media platforms and scheduling tools.
✔️ Knowledge of social media trends, algorithms, and best practices.
✔️ Ability to work with cross-functional teams and external agencies to execute social media campaigns.
✔️ Experience in editing and publishing web content. Knowledge of HTML is a plus.

📌 Preferred Experience:
✔️ Prior experience in corporate brand marketing, retail, or franchise-based businesses.
✔️ Familiarity with Google My Business and Apple Listings.
✔️ Experience using social media listening tools for sentiment analysis.

📌 Education Requirement:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not mandatory if the candidate has relevant experience.
