About the Role

The Amazon Security Platform Engineering team plays a critical role in equipping security professionals with the tools they need to excel. Operating across Amazon, including AWS, retail, and subsidiary business units, our team develops and maintains software solutions that are essential for securing Amazon’s expansive ecosystem. Responsibilities

💻 Design, Implement, and Maintain Platform Services

  • Build and maintain platform services using AWS to create highly scalable solutions for security professionals across Amazon. You will ensure the tools and services are secure, effective, and efficient.

🔧 Automate Deployments and Upgrades

  • Ensure smooth, continuous operations by automating the deployment, upgrades, and changes to the platform services. This helps maintain high availability, scalability, and security.

🤝 Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams

  • Work closely with security, engineering, and other cross-functional teams to understand their workflows and develop automated solutions to enhance operational efficiency.

🛠️ Develop Security Tools for Customers

  • Build tools and services that empower customers to automate critical security tasks, track performance, and measure success metrics. You’ll enable security teams to streamline and automate their day-to-day responsibilities.

📞 Participate in On-Call Operations

  • You will be responsible for participating in on-call operations to ensure system reliability and availability. Proactively identify and resolve issues to ensure continuity across Amazon’s operations.

🚀 Continually Improve Skills

  • Focus on identifying opportunities to enhance your skills in software development, cloud computing, and security while working on projects that will help you build a rewarding career path.

🔍 Proactively Identify and Resolve System Issues

  • Monitor systems and identify opportunities for improvement, always ensuring the systems meet security, performance, and scalability standards.

Basic Qualifications

🎓 1+ Years of Software Development Experience

  • At least 1 year of professional software development experience is required. Ideal candidates will have experience working with cloud computing technologies, security platforms, or large-scale systems.

Preferred Qualifications

🎓 Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Equivalent

  • A degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred. However, equivalent practical experience is also acceptable. Experience with cloud technologies and large-scale software systems is a plus.

💡 Experience with AWS or Other Cloud Platforms

  • Familiarity with AWS services and architectures is a significant advantage. You will use these services to build secure, scalable, and reliable solutions for our teams.

  • Amazon offers competitive base salaries that range from $99,500/year to $200,000/year, based on geographic location and relevant experience. Your compensation may also include equity, sign-on bonuses, and additional perks.
