Role Overview

Alma is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer II to join our Billing team and help build tools that simplify practice management for mental health providers. This role involves working across the tech stack, with a strong emphasis on backend development (~60%) and frontend contributions (~40%).

Responsibilities

✔️ Gain a deep understanding of Alma’s members and their operational needs.
✔️ Work on backend development (~60%) while contributing to frontend tasks as needed (~40%).
✔️ Design, develop, and maintain scalable product features using Python, Django, MySQL, React, and TypeScript.
✔️ Build member-facing and internal-facing tools for onboarding, scheduling, billing, and client management.
✔️ Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to develop impactful solutions.
✔️ Ensure performance, scalability, and security meet Alma’s software standards.
✔️ Contribute to the team’s technical roadmap and mentor fellow engineers.

Requirements

✅ 3-5 years of experience as a full-stack engineer, building scalable products.
✅ Proficiency in web technologies, with hands-on experience in at least one major web framework.
✅ Strong understanding of accessibility and security compliance.
✅ Experience with automated testing and unit tests.
✅ Proficient with Git and version control systems.
✅ Passion for user-centered development and collaboration.
✅ Data-driven mindset with a willingness to experiment and iterate.

Compensation & Benefits

💰 Salary: $140,000 – $160,000
