RESPONSIBILITIES

As an intern at AMETEK’s Chandler Engineering division, you will be involved in software and firmware development, research and development (R&D) projects, and hands-on engineering tasks. You will work alongside experienced engineers, gaining valuable experience in C++, Flutter, embedded systems, and microprocessor development.

Your Key Responsibilities:

✔️ Assist with Research and Development (R&D) lab reorganization and setup.
✔️ Contribute to the design and documentation of a universal electronics box for a family of instruments.
✔️ Update and track Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VA/VE) processes.
✔️ Assist in repairing in-house R&D laboratory instruments.
✔️ Support the conversion of industry-standard software from Visual C++ (Microsoft Foundation Class in Visual Studio 2017) to Flutter.
✔️ Assist with firmware development on Microchip PIC32 microprocessors.
✔️ Create and organize technical documentation for custom engineering projects.
✔️ Take on additional software-related tasks as assigned by the engineering team.

REQUIREMENTS

To qualify for this Software Engineering Internship, you should be currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

✔️ Exposure to or experience with C++ in Microsoft Visual Studio and/or Flutter/Dart in Microsoft Visual Studio Code.
✔️ Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and communication.
✔️ Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. for lab equipment handling.
✔️ Exposure to or experience with MPLAB X IDE by Microchip is a plus.

✅ Introduction to Computer Organization and Microprocessors
✅ C and C++ Programming
✅ Engineering Design with CAD (Computer-Aided Design)
✅ Computer Tools for Electrical and Computer Engineers
