π― The Role
Fortinet is seeking a Technical Support Engineer to join our dynamic support team at our Atlanta, GA office. In this role, you will provide exceptional web and telephone-based technical support for our Centralized Management & SOC Solutions, specifically:
- π FortiAnalyzer β Centralized Logging & Reporting
- βοΈ FortiManager β Centralized Configuration Management
You will collaborate with QA and software development teams to resolve customer issues, reproduce problems, and contribute to product enhancements. π οΈ Key Responsibilities
- π Provide direct technical support via phone and web-based interactions.
- π Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to FortiAnalyzer and FortiManager.
- π Collect and analyze data to recommend effective solutions.
- π Document known issues in technical bulletins and knowledge base articles.
- π Replicate customer environments using lab equipment for bug identification and testing.
- π‘ Manage customer communications and expectations throughout the resolution process.
- π Share expertise with peers and contribute to team knowledge transfer.
π€ Qualifications & Skills
- π Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- π» Experience: 4+ years in technical support, preferably in networking or cybersecurity.
- π‘ Networking Knowledge: Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols, L2/L3 switches.
- π Security Expertise: Experience with firewalls, VPN gateways, and security appliances.
- π οΈ Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to analyze complex networking issues and provide timely solutions.
- π SQL Knowledge: Experience writing SQL queries and select statements.
- βοΈ Cloud & Linux: Familiarity with VM/Cloud environments, Linux administration, and troubleshooting.
- π£οΈ Communication Skills: Strong English proficiency (written & verbal) with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
