Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a Test Engineer (Entry Level) for our Aviation Security Division located in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. As part of the Transportation Security Laboratory (TSL), you will support critical research and development for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). In this role, you will work on the Carry-on Baggage Readiness Test (RT) Support project, assisting in the collection and analysis of explosive detection data, and supporting the development of new test configurations and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Collection and Processing: Support the collection of vendor and Readiness Test (RT) data for new explosives on all operational systems, as well as systems entering the RT process.

  • Verification and Scoring: Verify that collected data images can be properly replayed on vendor-provided emulators and perform scoring on image data processed on system emulators.

  • Test Set Development: Assist in the development of new or modified test sets, including the configuration of threat concealments.

  • System Evaluation: Support the ongoing evaluation of explosive detection systems for DHS, ensuring data is accurate, consistent, and in line with project specifications.

  • Technical Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to improve existing testing procedures and protocols, ensuring that all processes meet security and operational standards.


Key Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to support effective collaboration.
  • Highly motivated and self-driven, with a strong eagerness to learn and contribute to the team.
  • Sole US Citizenship with eligibility and willingness to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret Security Clearance and DHS Suitability.

Preferred:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience with SolidWorks CAD and 3D printing.
  • Knowledge of MS Excel for data processing and analysis.
  • Prior experience with system testing or working within TSA or DHS environments.
  • Active DoD Secret security clearance is a plus.
