Join TerraForm Power as a Wind Technician at Kaheawa Wind Power I & II, where you will play a key role in maintaining and optimizing wind turbines, high-voltage systems, and associated equipment. In this hands-on role, you’ll perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs while ensuring the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency.

🔧 Your Responsibilities:

✅ Strictly adhering to health, safety, security, and environmental procedures while maintaining a safe working environment.
✅ Performing planned and corrective maintenance on wind turbines, including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components.
✅ Diagnosing and troubleshooting advanced PLC, electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems across multiple turbine platforms.
✅ Conducting high, medium, and low-voltage switching operations in collaboration with the High Voltage Technician.
✅ Training and mentoring other technicians on turbine maintenance and troubleshooting best practices.
✅ Documenting work activities, maintenance logs, and parts usage in the computer-based management system.
✅ Generating and managing purchase requisitions, tracking deliveries, and coordinating with Accounts Payable.
✅ Operating company vehicles and maintaining tools and equipment in top condition.
✅ Assisting in contractor monitoring and ensuring compliance with safety standards.

🎓 Education & Skills

✔️ High school diploma or GED required; vocational training in electrical engineering preferred.
✔️ Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of variable pitch, variable speed wind turbines.
✔️ Ability to climb towers up to 90 meters, sometimes in challenging weather conditions.
✔️ Physical capability to lift and move up to 50 lbs unassisted and up to 100 lbs with assistance.
✔️ Strong proficiency in electrical troubleshooting and color-coded wiring systems.
✔️ Familiarity with GE 1.5 se wind turbines is preferred.
✔️ Experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) is a plus.
✔️ Substation, relay, and high-voltage (HV) experience preferred.
✔️ Proficiency in Windows-based applications such as Outlook, Excel, and Word.
✔️ Working knowledge of OSHA safety standards and TerraForm Power HSS&E programs.
✔️ Valid U.S. Driver’s License is required.

🛑 Confined Space Rescue
⛑️ First Aid, CPR, AED, Bloodborne Pathogens (BBP)
⚡ NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety in the Workplace)
🚜 Class III, IV, and V Forklift Operation
🔗 Rigging and Signalman Certification
