Avangrid Renewables is looking for a motivated Wind Technician Intern to join our team at Buffalo Ridge 2 Wind Power Plant. This 10-week internship is designed for students enrolled in technical or vocational colleges who are passionate about the renewable energy sector. 📌Responsibilities

✔️ Learn to Read & Interpret Schematics – Assist senior technicians in understanding mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system diagrams.
✔️ Hands-On Mechanical & Electrical Training – Observe and assist with turbine inspections, component maintenance, and troubleshooting tasks.
✔️ Safety & Environmental Compliance – Participate in safety training sessions and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards.
✔️ Preventive Maintenance Support – Help with tool preparation, site clean-up, and reviewing OEM maintenance manuals.
✔️ Data Collection & Reporting – Assist in gathering turbine performance data and preparing draft reports for review.
✔️ Quality Assurance & Control (QA/QC) – Observe quality control processes and assist in maintaining documentation.
✔️ Professional Knowledge Development – Engage in workshops and training sessions to expand your industry knowledge.
✔️ Record-Keeping & Administrative Support – Help maintain logs, reports, and other documentation necessary for wind farm operations.

🏆Requirements

✅ Must be at least 18 years old and enrolled in a technical or vocational college.
✅ Preferred field of study: Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
✅ Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
✅ Comfortable working in all weather conditions (hot, cold, windy).
✅ Ability to climb wind turbines (up to 275 feet); medical self-certification and waiver required.
✅ Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
✅ Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
✅ Basic knowledge of measuring tools, testing instruments, and mobile data terminals.
✅ Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
